Holiday Greetings - December 2016
Aspen and Snowmass just received over 8 inches of powder, and the temperature was 6 degrees when I skinned up Aspen Highlands this morning! Winter is wonderful, and if you’ll be here for the holidays, it should be great skiing and boarding.
Real estate here is clicking along at a very good pace. In November, alone, our company, Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty, closed $125 Million in sales! There has been a continuation of strong interest in core Aspen homes and penthouses, as well as Red Mountain properties. Of note was the sale of 720 Willoughby Way, a contemporary and sophisticated new home that closed for $24 Million. Also on Red Mountain was a single family land sale, totaling 6.2 acres for $18.5 Million. In the West End, I was the listing agent for a home, that closed for $4.25 Million….which we now understand will be demolished and graded as a front yard for a new contemporary home that is being built just to the north. So…the sale of those two lots, totaling 6000 SF, was actually a land sale! Sales in Aspen continue to find new heights…and I believe that is the highest lot sale ever in the West End.
Snowmass Village homes have finally turned the corner, and have climbed out of the Great Recession ever so slowly. This spring I closed three homes in Snowmass as the selling agent, taking advantage of great supply and reasonable prices! The latest market share comparison of Sotheby’s with other firms in town for 2016 still shows us with a commanding lead in the luxury, over $2 Million market, of almost 32% of the market:
